My aim is for students to use responding as fuel for their creativity and to expose them to a freer more creative writing format for poetry.
Tomorrow I will repeat this task but use Music instead of Visual Art. In addition, Jennifer Pittaway, our Music teacher and co-collaborator for this unit, has taken this idea and replaced the words with the elements of Music. I will try to collect this idea and post it up too. I hope that you enjoy this and find it useful. Your comments and ideas are warmly welcomed.

This is fantastic! A great way to get the creative flow happening and I love how you're going to use this idea for writing lyrics to a song. Thank you for sharing!

PD Bites
ProDivas is a simple sharing approach, teacher to teacher, for our professional development. We collect and share bite-sized practical ideas. Once you take a bite, you may be self-motivated to eat the whole meal! We aim to find ideas supported by research to then apply for “best practice” but some ideas are too good to miss and are just simple “teacher tips”. Archives
